Core Responsibilities
Data Certification & QA/QC
- Validate and certify spatial datasets with > 95% accuracy, ensuring quality for operational and analytical use.
- Perform daily review and editing of 50–300 GIS data points with annotations and metadata tagging.
- Use human judgment to assess real-world features based on multi-layer imagery and signal data.
- Support peer-review and feedback processes to improve overall data quality.
- Validate data points for automation workflows for streamlining GIS data processes.
- Support creation of sample data and prototyped features for tool development and ML training.
- Analyze outputs from automated systems to identify patterns and root causes of data errors.
- Deliver insights and recommendations to improve the transportation network and navigation accuracy.
- Observe and report on anomalies in data signals, system behaviors, or procedural gaps.
- Collaborate with a team of GIS analysts, and mapping specialists to align data quality with project needs.
- Communicate findings, issues, and improvement suggestions clearly in both technical and operational contexts.
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in GIS data analysis or editing roles.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS (Pro, Online, Enterprise); basic scripting (Python) for automation or validation tasks.
- Demonstrated experience with QA/QC, metadata annotation, and issue documentation.
- Ability to follow detailed procedural documentation, while identifying inconsistencies or gaps.
- Must be able to work full-time on-site at the designated campus.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
- Daily task tracking and timesheet completion required to support project throughput analysis.
- Familiarity with transportation networks, planimetric features, and navigation systems.
- Background in open-source research and interpreting overlapping data signals.
- Proven ability to adapt to evolving workflows, pilot programs, or early-stage tooling.
- Strong attention to detail and capability to handle repetitive tasks with accuracy.
- Play a key role in delivering high-quality geospatial data that powers real-world navigation, logistics, and mobility systems.
