We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic shop assistant to join our growing team. In this entry level position, you will assist shop supervisors and project managers with a variety of tasks, while learning the basics of manufacturing including how to operate machinery. If you are willing to learn new skills, enjoy working with your hands, and get excited when hardware and tools go on sale, you could be an ideal fit for this shop assistant job.Shop Assistant Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide general assistance around the shop, including administrative and technical tasksAssist with shop loading and work kit preparationMonitor program schedulesLoad and unload delivery trucksStock raw materials in appropriate quantitiesClean and maintain equipment as directedMake sure workers and technicians have the tools necessary to complete their assigned tasksServe as a liaison between manufacturing teams, production control, research and development, and engineeringProvide assistance to project managers, shop supervisors, and the quality inspection team as neededAssist in the prototype developmentOperate equipment such as band saw, cut off saw, belt sander, drill press, disc grinder, punch pressUtilize precision measuring instruments including calipers, height gages, and micrometersShop Assistant Requirements and QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED equivalentPrevious experience in manufacturing or shop work, including metal or wood shop classesAptitude for mechanicsFamiliarity with hand toolsCapacity to analyze a situation and prioritize tasksStrong communication skillsExceptional hand-eye coordinationPhysically capable of standing for extendedperiods of time and lifting up to 70 poundsPLEASE CONTACT MIKE , by phone at (640)229-1401.
