In order to qualify, you must meet the education and training requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Master's Requirement: Applicants MUST possess a Master's (or higher) degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major study in education or a subject-matter field appropriate to the position. (NOTE: You must submit a copy of your graduate transcripts with your application).

-AND-

Applicants MUST be a graduate of the Army War College or a sister service equivalent. (NOTE: You must submit copies of your transcripts with your application)

.-AND-

Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe experience commanding both at the Brigade and Battalion level and at least one year of specialized experience that involves assignment involving tactical level planning and execution at the U.S. Army Brigade, Division and/or Corps level.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
  • Experience commanding/leading complex organizations
  • Knowledge of US Army Doctrine
  • Teaching small group facilitation
  • Curriculum development or assessment methodologies
NOTE: This position may be filled at one of the following academic ranks:
  • Instructor
  • Assistant Professor
  • Associate Professor
  • Professor
*Academic rank and salary will be determined based on the selectee's education and experience.

If you are currently serving on active duty: You MUST submit a certification from the armed forces that certifies the service member is expected to be discharged or released from active duty service in the armed forces under honorable conditions not later than 120 days after the date the certification is submitted for consideration in the hiring process AND has a compensable service-connected disability. The certification MUST show the characterization of your discharge (Honorable, General, etc.) and OVERALL compensable service-connected disability percentage. Prior to appointment, the service member's character of service and qualifying discharge or release must be verified through a DD form 214 or equivalent documentation.
