Summary/ObjectiveA Facility Maintenance Associate in a machine shop isresponsible for performing a wide range of tasks to ensure the facility and equipment remainsafe, functional,* **and clean. This role combines general building maintenance with specific duties related to industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment.*• *Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Preventive and Corrective Maintenance:Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on production machinery (e.g., CNC machines, lathes, grinders, drill presses) and facility equipment (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems) to prevent costly breakdowns.Troubleshooting and Repair:Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems with machinery and the facility infrastructure using technical manuals, blueprints, and diagnostic tools.Facility Upkeep:Conduct general maintenance and minor repairs to the building and grounds, including painting, patching walls, repairing floors, and addressing minor plumbing or electrical issues.Equipment Installation and Relocation:Assist with the installation, dismantling, and movement of machinery and equipment within the facility, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.Welding and Fabrication:Operate welding equipment and machine shop tools (lathes, mills) as needed to fabricate or repair parts and equipment components.Safety and Compliance:Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.Inventory Management and Documentation:Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts. Accurately document all maintenance and repair activities in logs or a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).Housekeeping:Ensure all work areas, including the maintenance shop, production floor, and common areas, are kept clean and organized.Qualifications and Skills:Education:A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree or vocational training in industrial maintenance or a related trade is preferred.Experience:1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment is typically required.Technical Skills:Soft Skills:Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Physical Demands:Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and safely lifting up to 50 pounds.Work Environment:The role operates in a typical machine shop environment with exposure to moderate noise levels, dust, and industrial conditions.
