What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Director position at SB SPECIALTY METALS LLC?
The Sales Director will work closely with the President and COO to develop and execute sales strategies, identify new business opportunities, and ensure both teams work together to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve company goals.
Essential Job Functions include the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Lead, coach, and manage inside and outside sales teams, establishing clear expectations and performance goals.
- Develop and implement sales plans to increase revenue, improve profitability, and expand our customer base.
- Monitor sales activity, results, and market trends to identify opportunities and address performance gaps.
- Strengthen relationships with key customers and support the team in securing new business.
- Coordinate inside and outside sales efforts to ensure timely quotes, consistent follow-up, and effective account coverage.
- Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and marketing to support customer needs and company objectives.
- Provide sales forecasts and performance updates to the President and COO.
- Recruit, train, and develop sales personnel while promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Effectively utilize and train on SB software resources including Citrix applications, SBSM Office, HubSpot, and Zoom Info in order to grow sales
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Five or more years of sales management experience, including leadership of inside and outside sales teams.
- Demonstrated success in driving sales growth, developing and leading sales teams, managing customer relationships, and effectively utilizing sales and marketing tools to meet or exceed revenue expectations.
- Experience in industrial distribution or manufacturing preferred; steel or metals industry experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM or sales management systems.
- Ability to travel to meet with customers and support outside sales activities.
- Valid driver’s license.
