Role Overview
The Lead Interior Designer will play an integral role in project execution, working closely with the Principal Designer. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong technical and creative skills who is ready to take ownership of project components while contributing to the overall vision. You’ll be responsible for developing design concepts, producing drawings, sourcing, and managing project phases with a high degree of independence.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on design direction across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and the Sayler Studio aesthetic
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and vendors, including site visits and project management support
- Work directly with clients to resolve open items or issues that arise through the design and installation
- Oversee procurement, scheduling, and installations to ensure seamless execution
- Maintain project budgets and timelines, proactively communicating with clients and team members
- Produce detailed CAD drawings, elevations, and specifications
- Source furniture, lighting, finishes, and accessories in line with the project vision
- Prepare client presentations, mood boards, and visual materials
Qualifications
- 6-10 years of professional interior design experience (high-end residential preferred)
- Degree in Interior Design or a related field
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
- Comfortable using Google Suite and Canva; strong Excel skills a plus
- Excellent eye for detail, color, and composition
- Solid technical knowledge of furniture, materials, and finishes
- Highly organized and resourceful, with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at once
- Confident communicator with clients, vendors, and contractors
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
