Job Type Description
Saydel Community School District is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher for grades 5–8 from January 5 through February 9. This position will support students with IEPs through delivering specially designed instruction, monitoring progress, and maintaining a consistent and structured learning environment during the teacher’s absence.
Pay:
Long-term substitute teacher pay rate is $200/day.
Bonus pay:
$250 after 25 whole days of substitute teaching
An additional $250 after 50 whole days
$500 after 100 whole days
Scope:
To provide high-quality instruction and support for students with IEPs, helping them make progress toward their academic, behavioral, and functional goals.
Reports to:
Building Principal and Director of Special Education
Requirements:
Meets licensure requirements of the Iowa Department of Education
Valid Iowa teaching license preferred; Special Education endorsement (K–8 Strategist I or II) strongly preferred
Performance Responsibilities:
Follows and implements the instructional program of study designed for students with IEPs in grades 5–8
Provides specially designed instruction aligned to existing IEP goals
Maintains a learning environment that is positive, structured, and conducive to student success
Supports the learning process and helps students meet stated goals and objectives
Demonstrates competence in classroom and behavior management
Uses a variety of methods to monitor student learning and progress
Collaborates with special education paras, general education teachers, and support staff as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
