Duties
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics on heavy equipment and construction machinery using schematics and electrical testing tools.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems to ensure machinery operates at peak efficiency.
- Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
- Service and repair farm machinery, industrial equipment, and construction machinery while adhering to safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Assist with heavy lifting operations and perform tire services or wheel alignments as needed to maintain equipment safety standards.
- Document all repairs accurately using detailed service reports; interpret schematics for precise troubleshooting.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating technical information clearly and ensuring client satisfaction during field visits.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a mechanic with dealership experience preferred; familiarity with OEM parts is highly valued.
- Strong background in construction equipment.
- Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, hydraulic systems, HVAC systems for heavy machinery, and diesel engine repair.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation combined with mechanical expertise in transmissions, suspension systems, brake repair, tire service and alignment.
- Experience working with farm machinery or industrial equipment is a plus; familiarity with schematics enhances diagnostic accuracy.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high standards of quality in all repairs performed.
