The automotive mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and overhauling major components and systems. The ideal candidate must be able to perform electrical diagnostics and be able to remove and repair: lines, air bag and instrument panels and various types of suspensions.

Mechanic Duties include but are not limited to:

• Diagnose and repair vehicles in accordance with manufacturers specifications and safety regulations
• Determine the type and extent of repairs needed and effectively communicate with collision estimator
• Make every effort to achieve the production objectives set by management
• Troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, adjust and perform operational checks on a variety of components and systems
• Stay current in the latest diagnostic methods and techniques across a number of brands
• Air bag and instrument panel removal and repair
• Suspension repair
• Electrical diagnostics, drive line removal and repair
• Communicate regularly with collision estimator and foreman to confirm repair order information and diagnostic information
• Follow established safety protocols and company policies
• Complete required training assigned through the company training portal
• Adhere to consistent and reliable work schedule
• Demonstrate ethical business practices in all interactions to uphold Sawgrass Ford’s good image

Job Requirements

• Positive attitude and a desire to learn
• Manual dexterity and physical stamina
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs without help
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to communicate with managers and peers
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Valid driver's license with Clean driving record
• Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screen
• Follow established safety protocols and company policies
• Adhere to consistent and reliable work schedule.
• Demonstrate ethical business practices in all interactions to uphold Sawgrass Ford’s good image
