Auto Mechanic

Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Fleet Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the preventative maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of our company’s fleet vehicles to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate has a strong traditional automotive or fleet background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to keeping our vehicles operating safely.

(Optional addition: We are actively expanding our Electric Vehicle fleet—this is a great opportunity for a traditional mechanic looking to get cross-trained on EV technology!)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and performance issues using standard diagnostic equipment.
• Repair or replace defective parts, including brakes, steering mechanisms, suspensions, and basic engine components.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure all vehicles comply with state and DOT regulations.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all maintenance, parts used, and repairs performed.
• Keep the shop area clean, organized, and compliant with OSHA safety standards.

Requirements:

• Experience: 2 years of professional experience as an auto mechanic or fleet technician.
• Skills: Strong understanding of automotive systems, diagnostics, and standard repair procedures.
• Tools: Must possess your own set of standard mechanic tools (specialty and diagnostic tools will be provided by the shop).
• Licenses: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy parts (up to 50 lbs), stand for extended periods, and perform the physical demands of the job.
• Preferred: ASE certifications or a background working on commercial fleets is a major plus, but not strictly required.
