Savo Inc. is seeking a Controller to join our team in a Full-Time, hybrid role, working in step with the VP and other management to achieve streamlined accounting & HR processes. Key responsibilities of the Controller include accounting, QuickBooks, financial modeling, budgeting, and vendor management, with secondary HR duties as needed. Job Responsibilities:
- Own all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial systems management
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial reporting
- Establish and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency
- Manage cash flow, liquidity planning, and banking relationships to support ongoing business operations
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, including development of financial models to support strategic decision-making
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, tax requirements, and reporting standards; coordinate with external partners as needed (e.g., CPA, auditors)
- Own revenue recognition and financial reporting processes, including complex or consumption-based models as applicable
- Manage corporate insurance programs and financial risk-related activities
- Oversee People Operations processes, including onboarding, offboarding, payroll, benefits administration, and employee-related documentation, in coordination with external partners as applicable
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment practices, policies, and internal procedures related to employee administration
- Other duties as needed
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- CPA or advanced certification (preferred but not required)
- At least 3 years of progressive accounting and/or controllership experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Experience managing financial operations in a dynamic or high-growth environment
- Demonstrated experience improving financial processes and systems
- Experience in an early-stage or high-growth startup environment
- Experience with tools such as Bill.com, Stripe, DocuSign, Carta, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with HR systems or external HR service provider models
- Experience with AI-enabled tools or financial automation platforms
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
- Familiarity with basic office equipment, including computers, phones, and related technology
- Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and maintain accuracy in a detail-oriented environment
- Ability to work in a hybrid role with occasional days on-site in Dallas office
