Safety Coordinator – Bridge Construction Project

Location: New London, CT

Compensation: $35.00–$40.00/hour No per diem Housing provided.

Employment Type: Temporary (1 Month Assignment)

SAVI EHS is seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to support an active bridge construction project in New London, Connecticut. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated safety professional looking to gain experience on a heavy civil infrastructure project while working alongside an experienced construction team. This is a one-month assignment, with project housing provided (no per diem).

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture on the project site.
• Conduct daily site inspections and identify potential hazards.
• Assist with daily pre-task planning, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and toolbox talks.
• Monitor work activities to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Document safety observations, corrective actions, and incident investigations.
• Support project management and field supervision with safety planning and compliance.
• Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
• Participate in client safety meetings and site audits.
• Ensure workers are comfortable working from heights and enforce fall protection standards.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (required).
• Bridge, highway, heavy civil, or infrastructure project experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Standards.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to walk active construction sites, climb stairs and ladders, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and be comfortable working from heights while enforcing fall protection standards.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic safety documentation.
