Position Overview
SAVI EHS is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to support a large-scale construction project in Port Canaveral, FL. This individual will serve as the primary safety resource onsite, partnering with project leadership, subcontractors, and craft personnel to drive a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
The project currently maintains a workforce ranging from approximately 100–200 personnel and is operating seven days per week. While the project works seven days a week, the anticipated schedule for this position is generally Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexibility based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all onsite Environmental, Health & Safety compliance activities.
- Conduct and document daily safety inspections, audits, and field observations.
- Manage Daily Hazard Analyses (DHAs), Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
- Facilitate site-specific orientations, safety meetings, and ongoing training initiatives.
- Identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution of safety concerns.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety observations, including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
- Partner with project management and field supervision to promote a zero-incident culture.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with project safety standards and client expectations.
- Maintain all required safety documentation, reports, inspections, and training records.
- Serve as the primary liaison between project leadership, client representatives, and field personnel on safety-related matters.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
- OSHA 30 Construction required.
- OSHA 510 and/or OSHA 500 preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction Standards.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively supporting project leadership and field personnel.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and digital safety management platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- CHST, STSC, ASP, GSP, CSP, or other BCSP certifications preferred.
- Active campus experience is a plus but not required.
- Experience supporting large-scale commercial, industrial, concrete, marine, or heavy civil construction projects.
- Strong understanding of contractor management and safety program implementation.
