Discipline Description
Media Design Services personnel produce, implement and deliver video, photographic and motion visual based content, graphic designs and related products and services, including lighting and audio design. They develop and maintain graphic designs (e.g., art, color themes, publications, presentations, photographs, web pages), audio and video to support the organization's image, identity, and brands. They develop and maintain the organization's visual-based standards, branding guidelines, techniques, and methods, including website design and layout. They develop strategic video production and photographic plans to support internal employee communications, external communications, public affairs, community relations, branding, and social media. They manage media assets, which may include full-services facilities, studios, hardware, and software tools required to deliver best-in-class productions and products.

We are seeking a full-time staff Media Specialist to join our established in-house communications team who provides video-based products and services for internal, external and communications programs and projects.
The media specialist job position supports the Corporate Communications & Media Services department with video production supporting internal & external communications, social media, and community outreach. This position will work closely with staff Producers/Writers/Subject Matter Experts to balance multiple projects across a variety of internal customers. This position involves a blend of creative, technical, and social/business skills interacting with a diverse group of people across multiple roles and disciplines. Applicants must be self-motivated and have current demonstrable knowledge of video involving high-quality efficient productions with a team or solo. You must be comfortable taking projects from concept to completion at varying levels of direction and able to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
This position requires you to be on-site on a full-time basis.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Apply advanced skills in support of SRNS media services.
- Topical areas of expertise may include but are not limited to camera operation, lighting, editing, script writing, document production, video production, artwork design and layout, visual communications, illustration animation.
- Specific media support provided varies according to assignment. Projects managed at this level will typically be less in scope, complexity, and cost as those managed by advanced level Media Specialists.
- Assist in the design and production of various multimedia programs which may include one or more of the following: animation, graphics, audio/visual communications in technical, educational, or promotional information systems depending upon the individual assignment.
- Interpret DOE/SRNS requirements and prepare media which meet customer needs, industry practices, and corporate media standards.
- Attend planning sessions with customers and offer guidance regarding Media Services capabilities and appropriateness of design decisions.
- Consult with and advise customers regarding production schedules, cost, and potential visual impacts of various media production technologies and techniques.
- Review work of peers to ensure products are comprehensive, integrated, and consistent in look, sound, and function.
- Plan, organize, and direct, multi-disciplined media services work groups which produce professional quality products for high profile use.
- Provide broad technical design support for media services depending upon assignment.
- Research and remain cognizant of developing multimedia technologies.
- Conceptualize, create and capture engaging video content

- Command of Adobe Creative Suite

- Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field
- Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere or other Professional NLE Editing Software
- Proven experience in determining multimedia program requirements to meet informational, promotional, and educational needs.
- Familiarity with Photography/Videography Camera ecosystems. Sony camera ecosystem is a plus (FX6, A7RV, AR7s3, etc.)
- Understanding of codecs, bit rates, compression methods, aspect ratios, and delivery standards for broadcast, internet, and specialized use
- Experience with live stream video productions
- High familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud
