What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant (certified) position at Savannah Endocrinology?
We are seeking a Medical Assistant to become a part of our team! You will perform routine administrative AND clinical assignments to keep the medical office running smoothly and make a meaningful impact on patient well-being. Work schedule 7:30AM to 4:30 PM Monday -Thursday, 7:30AM to 1PM Fridays.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, coordinate patient appointments and follow up care
- Perform routine clinical tasks which include obtaining patient vitals and medical history
- Obtain a point of care glucose and hemoglobin A1c blood sample
- Record medical history in patient's electronic medical record
- Handle medical administrative support tasks efficiently, such as faxes, patient communication of test results and medication prior authorizations
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience in healthcare, obtaining vitals, and further experience in primary care a plus
- HIPAA certified
- Strong organizational skills, knowledge of clinic operations and medical terminology
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
