Primary Function:
Teachers are members of the CEO's instructional team and are responsible for duties related to academic programs and operational practices.
Requirements:
- Candidates must be fully authorized to work in the United States.
- Education Level: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university Preferred: Advanced degree(s)
- Experience, Skill and Certification: Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in the assigned teaching field
REPORTS TO: Savannah Classical Academy’s CEO
SALARY SCHEDULE: Appropriate placement on salary scale based on experience and certification (Georgia certified with four-year degree, with zero experience is $53,817.50)
Plus $2500 upper grades supplement added the appropriate teacher salary scale step.
WORK DAYS: 190
BENEFITS: Teachers are members of the Georgia Teachers Retirement System (TRS) and are eligible to participate in the State Health Benefit Plan, group dental, vision, and supplemental coverages. All SCA employees are provided with $20K of life insurance at no-cost.

General Responsibilities and Duties:
- Demonstrates mastery of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials for course(s) taught.
- Creates lesson plans, aligned with current state standards, which drives instruction through formative assessment and differentiation.
- Maintains a safe, organized classroom, which supports students.
- Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques.
- Uses available technology to enhance the students’ learning experiences.
- Attends and participates in faculty meetings and extra-curricular/school related activities.
- Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behavior that is conscientious and responsible.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the CEO.
- Follows professional practices consistent with school policies in working with students, students’ records, parents, and colleagues
- Facilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications
