What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Foreman position at Savannah Apparatus Repair?
Savannah Apparatus is an EASA Accredited electric motor repair shop looking for a Technical Shop Leader. Must have minimum 5 yr experience, willing to work on floor and coordinate jobs, schedule employees and grow the business. Pay includes salary, bonus, medical, dental, vision, 401K, paid vacation. Shop Foreman works directly with Operations Manager. Working knowledge of pumps, gearboxes, generators along with winding AC/DC electric motors is a must. Overtime is required.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Conduct weekly safety meetings; ensure daily contact, observations and housekeeping activities to ensure safest-injury free workplace
- Attention to quality; insure compliance with quality processes and procedures, participate in preventative and corrective action process to continually reduce scrap and rework
- Drive production through the departments to meet deadlines safely, timely and at a minimum cost
- Prioritize and update the production schedules and reports the progress to the Operations Manager
- Work closely with Production Control to complete jobs on to customer specifications on time
- Provide shop floor leadership including training, safety, mentoring, discipline and moral
- Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls for efficient manufacturing practices
- Maintain good housekeeping practices throughout the departments
- Generate and maintain daily and monthly reports to Operations Manager
- Communicate regularly with your team, both individually and as a group to ensure good two-way communication concerning operational issues, safety, maintenance issues, tooling issues, personnel issues, etc.
