What you'll be doing:
- Champion a zero-occurrence safety culture through daily leadership and example
- Provide daily equipment status updates to local leadership
- Be a "working supervisor" leading and working with maintenance technicians on the shop floor
- Prioritize and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance activities
- Collaborate with leadership to plan equipment and facility maintenance
- Communicate equipment service status and downtime updates
- Ensure accurate documentation of all maintenance activities
- Manage and maintain critical spare parts inventory
- Uphold quality standards through regular work inspections
- Drive S7 and 5S initiatives across the shop and yard
- Support hiring, onboarding, and team development
- Coordinate technician training through internal and external resources
- 5 years of experience working in heavy truck maintenance
- Electrical diagnostic and troubleshooting experience required.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and tech manuals.
- Ability to operate a scan tool or computer to troubleshoot diagnostic problems.
- Ability to obtain a CDL for test driving of units.
- Excellent communication skills: written and spoken
- Self-starter capable of working independently, in line with company goals, strategies, and policies.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and carry out critical projects to completion.
- Ability to diagnose, problem solve, and execute plans.
- Interest in advancement with the ability to relocate in the future.
- Must be physically capable of standing, kneeling, and walking on a concrete floor regularly.
- Willingness to work long hours when necessary.
- Commitment to safety practices and policies, including PPE usage
- Work in all types of weather conditions.
