What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacist position at Sav-Rite Pharmacy?
We are an independently owned and operated community pharmacy looking to hire a full-time and/or part-time, position. As a pharmacist, you will be responsible for verifying patient prescriptions for accuracy according to their physician's orders. The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge. A pharmacist does not merely hand out prescribed medicine; he/she has the expertise and willingness to assist people and provide them with information and solutions. The pharmacist must be fully qualified to interpret symptoms so that the patient can either be given immediate treatment for a condition or to be referred to the suitable provider. Pharmacists must be able to provide professional advice on over-the-counter medications. The goal is to ensure effective medication use and become a patient’s trusted source for medication information.
Responsibilities
- Review and execute physician’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
- Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice
- Provide medical services such as injections
- Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient
- Keep records of patient history and of all activities regarding medications in the pharmacy
- Staying up to date in advancements in medicine by attending conferences and seminars and/or collaborating with other healthcare professionals and/or other continuing education activities
- Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations and procedures
- Comply with and be helpful with any yearly regulatory visits from the Board of Pharmacy, etc.
Skills
- Proven experience as a pharmacist
- Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands etc.
- Proficiently skilled in Pharmacy information systems (eg. RX30, MediTech, Mediware etc.)
- Good organization skills
- Excellent communication skills with a customer oriented approach
- Integrity and compassion
- Degree in Pharmacy/Pharmacology
- Valid license to practice the profession
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $55.00 - $62.00 per hour
