What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elder Law Associate Attorney position at Sauber Legal Services LLC?
Elder Law Attorney
Full-Time | In-Person to Start (Hybrid Potential) | 4-Day Workweek (Mon–Thu)
We’re hiring an Associate Attorney for our elder law practice. You’ll manage a caseload in estate planning, long-term care planning, guardianship, probate, special needs planning, financial exploitation, and litigation. You’ll work independently and own your outcomes. We don’t have time to train from the ground up, so you need 3 years of legal experience and comfort learning a niche specialty.
Why this matters: We’re one of 2 certified elder law attorneys in Minnesota. That’s rare. Working here means learning a specialty that 99% of attorneys will never practice. You’ll prevent elder financial exploitation. You’ll help families navigate impossible situations. You’ll help people maintain dignity during their most vulnerable transitions.
What we need: Someone who reads the statute before asking what it says. Someone who brings recommendations, not just questions. Someone confident enough to run cases independently but humble enough to learn from us. Someone who stays, not someone using us as a training ground.
What you’ll get: Base salary commensurate with experience plus up to 15% bonus on receipts over base nut/cost. Your effort directly impacts your earnings. Unlimited PTO (we trust you). Hybrid eligible once you’re established and working independently. 401(k) with matching. CLEs and professional development covered. A small team of people who actually respect each other.
Timeline: We’re hiring thoughtfully. Not desperately. We’re looking for the right fit. That might take time.
TO APPLY: Email career@sauberlaw.com with subject: “Associate Attorney.” Attach your resume, a writing sample, and why you’re drawn to elder law specifically.
