Role Description The Associate Attorney will provide legal counsel and representation in family law, business law, and estate planning matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, contracts, and other legal documents. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, analyzing case law and statutes, preparing for and attending hearings and client meetings, and managing case files from intake through resolution. The role involves negotiating settlements, collaborating with colleagues and staff, and maintaining regular communication with clients to explain options, timelines, and strategies. The Associate Attorney will also participate in business development activities such as networking and community engagement as needed. This is a full-time, quasi on-site and remote position based in Lindstrom, MN.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law, with experience or coursework in Labor and Employment Law or related practice areas.
- Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to clients while maintaining professionalism and ethical standards.
- Proficiency in legal Research, including case law, statutes, regulations, and secondary sources.
- Effective Negotiation skills for settlement discussions, mediation, and client advocacy.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting motions, orders, contracts, and client correspondence.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters with varying timelines.
- Commitment to client-centered service, discretion, and sensitivity in family law and estate planning matters.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small firm environment, with sound judgment and initiative.
