Job Summary:
The Site Operations Technician II is responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of bitcoin mining servers, computing hardware, and supporting infrastructure. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining and optimizing operations to deliver maximum uptime and performance, all while upholding the highest safety standards. The Technician II is expected to demonstrate strong technical expertise and provide leadership to junior personnel, contributing actively to both daily operation and ongoing improvements.

- Conduct all field work in compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety procedures; actively encourage and participate in building a strong employee safety culture.
- Lead and mentor Operations Technician I staff, assisting management in ensuring daily goals are met and promoting continuous training.
- Develop and implement operational solutions for planned and unplanned maintenance, improvement projects, and overall site performance.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on server hardware and associated computing equipment; maintain accurate, up-to-date inventory records.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues to minimize downtime and optimize operational efficiency; respond timely to critical problems.
- Monitor performance metrics, including power consumption, temperature, and other operational parameters; analyze and report anomalies or inefficiencies.
- Implement and enforce strict physical security protocols to protect personnel, equipment, and digital assets.
- Manage and track personal and team training schedules; ensure completion of mandatory OSHA and technical certifications (including OSHA 10, scissor lift, sky lift, forklift within two weeks of employment).
- Maintain company-supplied equipment, facilities, and tooling; ensure work environments are kept clean, safe, and well-organized.
- Collaborate effectively across the operations team to optimize workflows and implement best practices, staying abreast of industry developments.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven experience maintaining and troubleshooting servers and computer hardware.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency and technical aptitude.
- Skilled at diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and cooling solutions used in large data center environments.
- Understanding of safety protocols and best practices within data centers or industrial facilities.
- Ability to solve problems independently, with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
Nice to Have:
- Technical degrees or certifications (electrical engineering, networking, IT, etc.).
- OSHA certifications.
- Familiarity with bitcoin mining software and monitoring tools (e.g., CGMiner, Bitmain Antminer Toolkit).
- Previous experience in cryptocurrency mining operations or large data center environments.
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Work performed in industrial data center/mining facility environments with exposure to loud noise, high-heat environments, air particulates from equipment and facility operations, and varying/extreme weather conditions.
- Regular physical effort, including lifting over 50 pounds, may be required
- May require weekends, nights, or on-call work as a regular part of the job
- Majority of work on-site; office environments may also be included
