What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fuels Distribution System Mechanic (LFM) position at Satellite Services, Inc.?
Satellite Services, Inc. is looking for a Fuel Distribution System Mechanic (LFM) to assist with our contract with Grissom Joint Air Reserve Base, IN. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt, CBA position to start August 1, 2026.
The Fuel Distribution System Mechanic maintains and repairs fuel storage and distribution systems (military hydrant systems Type III), using hand and power tools and testing instruments, inspects fuel receiving, storage, and distribution facilities to detect and correct leakage, corrosion, faulty fittings, and malfunction of mechanical units, fuel meters, and gauges, (such as distribution lines, automatic control valves, float gauges, piping valves, petroleum pumps, and roof sumps, leak detection , pressure and flow sensing systems and devices); inspects electrical wiring, switches, and controls for safe-operating condition, grounding, and adjustment, lubricates and repacks valves; lubricates pumps, replaces gaskets, seals and corrects pumping equipment misalignment, services aviation fuel filtration equipment and above- and below-ground storage tanks. Additionally, you will service water separators, checks meters for correct delivery and calibration, overhauls system components such as pressure regulating valves and excess valves, disassembles, adjusts, aligns, and calibrates gauges and meters or replaces them, removes and installs equipment such as filters and piping to modify system or repair and replace system component. Duties include cleaning fuel tanks and distribution lines, removing corrosion and repainting surfaces, overhauling vacuum and pressure vents, floating roof seals, hangers, and roof sumps, and maintaining record of inspections and repairs. All duties must be performed within the specified safety regulations of the company and the position. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Job Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
- Security Clearance (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Desired Job Qualifications:
Successful completion LFM course J3AZR3E472 or able to demonstrate at least 5 years of experience on the maintenance of aviation fuel systems and military hydrant systems (Type III)

Work Schedule:
- Full-time, 40 hours week
- Position may require occasional work after hours or on Saturdays and Sundays
