What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic position at Muncie Indiana Transit System?
MITS is looking for a skilled, reliable individual to work on our fleet of diesel, propane, and gas vehicles. Individuals must possess standard mechanical hand tools, a mobile tool cabinet, a good driving record, and minimum of 2–3 years of mechanical experience or Technical education.
$4,500 Sign-on bonus for current ASE Master Certified “A” Mechanics.
Starting Pay is $20.35 to $31.08 per hour (based on qualifications) with excellent benefits*.
Mechanic positions are standard work week with opportunities for overtime.

REQUIREMENTS:
- At Least 21 Years Old
- Valid Driver’s License
- High School Diplomas or GED
- DRUG FREE
- Individuals must possess standard mechanical hand tools, a mobile tool cabinet, a good driving record, and a minimum of 2-3 years of mechanical experienced desired or technical education
