Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled or trainable Marine Electronic Technician to join our team, responsible for learning how to maintain, repair, and install electronic systems aboard marine vessels. This role requires some background in electrical and mechanical systems, with the ability to learn how to interpret schematics and perform precise troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will possess experience in service technician roles, military background, or related technical fields, and be committed to ensuring optimal vessel performance and safety.
Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair marine electronic systems using schematics and technical manuals
- Perform electrical wiring, soldering, and fabrication of electronic components
- Conduct maintenance on vessel electrical systems, including power tools, hand tools.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and ohmmeters to diagnose issues
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating technical information clearly to clients and team members
Requirements
- Some experience as a service technician or in a similar technical role within the marine or military sectors
- Some electrical experience with knowledge of schematics, soldering, welding, and fabrication techniques
- Problem-solving skills with attention to detail in troubleshooting electronic systems
- Customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively about technical issues
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
