Medical Assistant

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to support our healthcare providers and enhance patient experience. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in patient care by assisting with clinical procedures, managing patient information, and ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. Your contributions will help us provide exceptional service and support to our patients.

Responsibilities

· Assist healthcare providers during patient exams and procedures.

· Take vital signs and document patient medical histories.

· Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring a clean and organized environment.

· Provide patient education regarding treatment plans and medications.

· Maintain accurate patient records within our electronic health record system.

· Handle phone inquiries, addressing patient questions and concerns.

· Manage prescriptions and coordinate medication refill requests.

· Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA regulations, ensuring patient confidentiality and safety.

· Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program is preferred.

· Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within pain management or a similar specialty.

· Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is a plus.

· Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical practices.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.

· Proficient in electronic health records and basic office software.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

*** Candidate must we willing to travel between our Havre de Grace and Bel Air locations.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
