Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process retail sales transactions swiftly and efficiently
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product questions, product demos, and upselling opportunities
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, restocking supplies and merchandising as needed
- Support store operations by stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and assisting with inventory management
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to engage customers professionally via phone etiquette or in person
- Promote store promotions and upsell products to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Previous experience with POS systems and cashiering is highly preferred
- Strong retail math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer needs effectively
- Proven supervising experience or leadership skills in retail environments are advantageous
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and customer interaction techniques
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately during transactions
- Retail sales experience in grocery stores or similar environments is beneficial
