SUMMARY As a key member of the Logistics team, the Shipping Associate is the main point of contact for all outbound drivers arriving at the Plymouth Distribution Center. - Manages the contactless check-in systems including checking drivers in and out for the Plymouth Shipping Department.
- Communicate with yard spotters and drivers to ensure trailers are moved in a timely manner and are set to correct trailer temperatures.
- Prepare and organize loading paperwork including manifests, bills of lading, and packing lists.
- Communicate with customers and carriers to ensure loading appointments are scheduled timely and correctly.
- Ensure temperature recorder inventory and input recorder data into customer portals
- Leverages WMS, TMS, ERP, and related systems to perform data entry, generate reports, track trends, and resolve discrepancies.
- Act as backup for the Transportation Specialist and provide support to the Distribution Supervisor, Distribution Manager, and Personnel Scheduler as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Two years working in a Transportation environment preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and strong Excel skills required, including the ability to develop spreadsheets, and training documents; experience using WMS (Warehouse Management System) and TMS (Transportation Management System) preferred.
