General Summary
A Dental Claims Processor is responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of dental insurance claims. It is the job of the claims processor to analyze and process the insurance claim, adhering to contract requirements, laws and regulatory guidelines. This role ensures consistent daily adherence to performance metrics such as service level and turnaround time.
This position will be with Stratacor, an affiliate of Delta Dental of Minnesota.

The starting salary range for this position is $21.00 to $26.00 per hour. Salary offers will typically be made in the listed range. The Company takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including merit process and internal pay alignment when determining the salary for potential new team members. In compliance with state and federal regulations, a potential new team member’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.

Essential Functions
- Respond, resolve and document inquires from members and providers regarding benefits, eligibility, claims and other issues.
- Research and resolve member and provider issues.
- Respond to, and direct, members and providers to appropriate external vendors, partners and DDPA plans as appropriate.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of policies, processes, and programs.
- Process dental claims.
- Respond to internal stakeholder inquiries relating to claim status.
- Identify operational issues and recommend improvements.
- Ability to understand and interpret benefit set-up.
- Perform special projects and assignments within established time frames.
- Knowledge of other claims departments to be able to send additional claim information to the correct area for review.
- Other job-related duties as assigned

Required :
- High school diploma or equivalent (i.e., GED)
- Understanding and working knowledge of technology (i.e., Company software systems)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience reviewing documents
- Travel Requirements: up to 25%
- Weight Lifting Requirements: up to 25 lbs.
- Sedentary Work: Prolonged periods of sitting at a workstation while working at a computer
- Reports to: Director of Claims Operations

- Internal Relationships: Interfaces with enterprise-wide staff at all levels
