We are seeking a Detail-Oriented Estimator to join our team in Saratoga Springs, NY. This role is essential in developing accurate and complete project cost estimates that support successful project bidding, planning and execution. The ideal candidate will complete quantity takeoffs, prepare detailed cost estimates, manage the bid process, solicit labor and material bids from subcontractors and vendors, and assist with preconstruction activities, such as procurement and scheduling, to ensure a smooth handoff to the project management team.

We are seeking a Detail-Oriented Estimator to join our team in Saratoga Springs, NY. This role is essential in developing accurate and complete project cost estimates that support successful project bidding, planning and execution. The ideal candidate will complete quantity takeoffs, prepare detailed cost estimates, manage the bid process, solicit labor and material bids from subcontractors and vendors, and assist with preconstruction activities, such as procurement and scheduling, to ensure a smooth handoff to the project management team.
Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings and specifications, develop project scopes and produce accurate quantity takeoffs
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates at various stages of the design process (i.e. – conceptual budgets, ballpark estimates and complete construction estimates)
- Solicit, compare, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes
- Assist with drafting proposals for new work and bid submission processes
- Assist with value engineering options and cost-saving recommendations
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, identify risks, and gather key information to support the estimating/bid process
- Track market trends, material costs, and labor rates to support accurate estimates
- Collaborate and communicate with various project stakeholders throughout the process, including clients, project managers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Experience in construction estimating (2–5 years of estimating experience in residential or light commercial construction preferred).
- Working knowledge of Excel, Bluebeam Revu, MS Project or other related estimating software or plan take-off tools
- Understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost factors
- Knowledge of contract administration and negotiation skills are a plus
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail

Salary : $60,000 - $85,000
