Job Description
The Anesthesia/ Pharmacy Technician assists the anesthesia team in ways that help optimize the daily workflow of patient care. Various tasks are carried out prior to, during, and following patient procedures. This position is proficient in preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment and supplies. The Technician works collaboratively with anesthesia providers and the nursing staff to facilitate patient care and improve operating room efficiency. This position will also assist in the ordering, receiving, stocking & keeping inventory of pharmacy items under direction of the pharmacy RN’s.
Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm
Pay based on experience starting at $17.79
Responsibilities
Assisting with the ordering, receiving & inventory of all facility medications., Facilitate operating room turnover in between cases -disinfect anesthesia equipment and working surfaces, dispose of contaminated materials, and prepare workstations for the next cases., Maintain accessory equipment such as glidescopes and ultrasounds -disinfect, stock, transport, etc., Maintain par levels of medications and supplies throughout the facility including stocking & maintaining Pyxis inventory., Manages & investigates Pyxis discrepancies., Prepare anesthesia machines for the first cases of the day - machine checks, volatile anesthetic refills, etc., Provide support during medical emergencies., Run errands as requested by operating room staff to facilitate the preparation and conduction of anesthesia., Troubleshoot broken equipment and work with clinical engineering to resolve issues.
Requirements
High School (Required)Certified Pharmacy Technician (within 2 years of hire) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Illinois Pharmacy Technician License (within 60 days of hire) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation

$17.79 - $27.57
