Head of Software Development – Private Equity Portfolio Company - $240k-250k Base Salary
Location: Remote (25% travel), anywhere in the US
This is a senior leadership role sitting at the top of a professional services firm’s software function, overseeing a team of Application Development Leaders across Tax, Audit, Advisory and Corporate.
We are looking for a strategic engineering leader who is equally comfortable in the product and AI world as they are leading a development function. The firm is predominantely SaaS and off-the-shelf, so the right person will be someone who thrives in a business-facing environment and knows how to get the most out of bought and customized technology.
You will be setting the overall technical direction, owning high-level decisions around how the business builds and deploys its software, and working closely with senior stakeholders across every part of the organization.
A key part of this role will be championing the adoption of AI, ML and automation across the firm - identifying where these technologies can drive efficiency and embedding them into how the business operates going forward.
This is the right seat for you if you have spent the better part of your career growing from a development background into a strategic leadership position. You will need at least a decade of experience managing complex projects and a strong track record of directly leading development teams, ideally having taken a function through a meaningful transformation.
Experience within buy-side financial services or other regulated sectors would be advantageous, though not required. Strong SQL proficiency and a solid development background are essential. Above all, they are looking for someone who can hold their own in a business conversation just as confidently as a technical one.
