Role Description The R&D Senior Engineer – Medium Voltage Reclosers will lead the design, development, and validation of medium voltage recloser products and related components. This is a contract, on-site role based in Mebane, NC, responsible for driving technical solutions from concept through testing and deployment. Day-to-day activities include performing detailed research and analysis of recloser technologies, defining product requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain. The engineer will plan and execute laboratory and field testing, analyze test data, and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting product issues, preparing technical documentation and reports, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and mentoring junior engineers as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop Medium Voltage Reclosers and electrical power equipment
• Perform root-cause analysis, design reviews, and reliability engineering
• Support product certification and testing activities
• Ensure compliance with IEEE C37.60, IEC 62271-111, ANSI, UL, CSA, and NEMA standards
• Work with manufacturing facilities to develop and validate engineering solutions
• Document technical findings, designs, and engineering results
• Support IP generation and project IP strategy
