Role Description
SARACA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a full-time, on-site position based in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical systems and components, utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) tools. You will contribute to research and development initiatives, support machine design projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones. Additionally, you will participate in project management activities to ensure that project deadlines, budgets, and specifications are met while maintaining the highest quality standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, model, and manage CAD drawings for complex mechanical systems
- Work on sheet metal design, assemblies, and BOM management
- Develop and improve hardware for robotic/automated equipment
- Create detailed 2D fabrication drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet safety and performance goals
- Support documentation, ECR updates, and manufacturing processes
Must-Have Skills:
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
- 2–4 years of experience in Robotics / Automotive / Automation
- Strong CAD skills (Onshape preferred, SolidWorks/Creo acceptable)
- Good understanding of GD&T, welding, and manufacturing methods
- Experience with sheet metal design, assemblies, and BOMs
- Basic knowledge of pneumatics & hydraulics
- Hands-on exposure to prototyping or hardware builds
Nice to Have:
- Interest in robotics, automation, or safety-critical systems
- Experience working with large assemblies and documentation control
