The HSE Facilities Technician (Entry-Level) is responsible for successfully implementing relevant policies & programs and continuously improving HSE culture within the worksite. This entry-level role will work directly with the Director of Safety and Compliance & HSE Manager to facilitate the delivery and administration of health and safety initiatives and programs on project locations. Based out of Conroe, TX, must be able to travel, primarily within Texas, 60-70%, based on project needs. The remainder would be, on average, at the Conroe shops 2-3 days per week. This role will report to the Director of Safety and Compliance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities, work areas, and equipment to ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) regulations.
- Assist with site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Partner with management on onboarding new employees & lead employee engagement.
- Facilitate delivery and administration of health & safety initiatives and programs at project locations.
- Support adherence to company policies and regulations governing Sapphire operations.
- Provide support and guidance to Texas and regional operations personnel.
- Collaborate to develop & update HSE policies & procedures under the guidance of the HSE Director.
- Work closely with Operations on design, implementation, and maintenance of HSE policies and procedures
- Support corporate and site-level safety meetings. Update PPE assessments as needed.
- Able to interpret and apply OSHA regulations, TRCC, and industry safe work practices.
- Knowledge of hazards in the natural gas industry (Class 1 Locations & Division 1 & 2).
- Ability to develop risk assessments (JSAs) and identify workplace controls to lower risk to an acceptable level.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- Associate in Safety & Health Management. Bachelor’s in Occupational Safety & Health preferred.
- OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 Certifications preferred
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or TWIC Card preferred
- 1 years in HSE/Safety in the Oil & Gas, Natural Gas or Energy industries.
- Familiar with OSHA regulations and standards.
- Experience with ISNetworld, Veriforce, and/or DISA preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
- Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), mobile email & apps.
- Experience with the design of work processes and procedures, and training personnel.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced, detailed environment.
Salary : $45,000 - $50,000
