What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at FACILITIES?
Primary Purpose:
Responsible for the appearance and cleanliness of assigned HCDE facility. Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.
Qualifications:
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment (buffer, stripper, wet & dry vacuum cleaner and carpet shampooer)
- Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
- Detail oriented
Experience:
- Two years related experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintain facilities in a clean and operable condition.
- Assist personnel in moving necessary supplies and equipment.
- Report all needed maintenance and follow through on repair work.
- Scrub and disinfect toilets and floors, and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
- Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation.
- Maintain working inventory of supplies.
- Comply with safety policies and procedures for self and other employees.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary : $29,760 - $36,288
