Role Overview
We are seeking a Workday Analyst on a 6 month 1099 contract basis with an opportunity to be hired by the client as FTE. Ideal candidate will drive the configuration, optimization, and maintenance of our Workday platform. In this role, you will partner closely with the HR to lead critical implementation efforts and ensure seamless ongoing operations. Position is hybrid.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical expert who is confident operating independently within the Workday tenant, specifically during configuration, testing, and high-stakes cutover activities.
Key Responsibilities
- System Configuration: Lead configuration and maintenance across Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Absence, Recruiting, and Time Tracking.
- Solution Design: Translate complex business requirements into scalable Workday solutions and maintain security roles/permissions.
- Integrations & Reporting: Build and maintain EIB integrations; develop custom reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
- Troubleshooting: Partner with IT and third-party vendors to resolve system/integration issues and manage data extracts.
- Release Management: Manage biannual Workday releases, including impact analysis, testing, and documentation.
- Data Integrity: Ensure strict compliance, system controls, and clear documentation of all configuration updates.
Implementation & Project Support
- SME Leadership: Act as the internal expert during implementation, validating vendor design decisions and configuration logic.
- Testing & Quality: Lead end-to-end testing, coordinate defect tracking, and manage issue resolution.
- Data Conversion: Support data mapping, workbook validation, and reconciliation of conversion loads.
- Go-Live Execution: Drive functional readiness and execute technical cutover plans, including final data loads and production validation.
- Project Coordination: Assist the AVP HRIS with RAID logs, action items, and status reporting.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, HR, Business, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on Workday HCM configuration (Core HCM business processes are a must).
- Module Expertise: Preferred experience in at least two: Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Time Tracking, or Absence.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in custom reports, calculated fields, and EIBs. Familiarity with Core Connectors, RaaS, or Studio is a plus.
- Implementation Background: Proven experience supporting a Workday implementation or major deployment.
- Soft Skills: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strong analytical and communication skills.
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
