Job Title: Senior Developer

Purpose and Objective:  
SAP Labs, LLC seeks a Senior Developer at our Palo Alto, CA location responsible for development focusing on design, coding, testing, and quality assurance of specific SAP product features in a development team. 

Expectations and Tasks: 
Resolves complex issues within own area of expertise and supports others in resolving issues. Analyze and solve issues in existing and new code. Provide application implementation services typically within the boundaries of specifications and project plans. Design activities include requirements analysis and design documentation. Implementation activities include implementation, testing, and integration. Maintenance activities include error analysis and removal. Extends, modifies or adapts existing designs but may also be involved in the development of new (sub-) systems. If acting as Scrum Master in the LEAN context, responsible for promoting and supporting Scrum by helping everyone understand Scrum theory, practices, rules, and values. Serve as 'servant-leader' for the Product Owner and the Development Team. Facilitate Scrum Events on request or as required. Coach the Development Team in self-organization. Remove impediments to the

Development Team's progress. 

Education and Occupational Experience: 
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience: 
Experience must involve four (4) years in the following:
•    Backend development with JAVA;
•    Junit;
•    Frontend development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript;
•    Software design, software architecture, agile software development, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and principles of OO design including SOLID principles; 
•    SQL and MySQL;
•    Source code versioning;
•    REST, RESTful APIs, and Postman API; and
•    Scrum or Agile methodologies, and JIRA.
Experience must involve two (2) years in the following:
•    Backend development with Spring Framework, and Kafka;
•    Frontend development with modern frameworks React or AngularJS; and
•    Designing and developing microservices architecture (or service-oriented architecture), Redis, Kibana, Grafana, Jenkins, Git, and GitHub, and principles of CI/CD.

Compensation Range Transparency: : The annual base salary range for this position is $151,079 - $234,344. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $156,700 - $266,300. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
