Job Overview
We need an emergency attendant for our Ice Cream Window for this weekend. Saturday and Sunday, about 11am-5pm. Currently closed for the season, we are opening a pop up for Maple Weekend, as we feature Maple soft serve cones. We'll have full and part-time positions available as the weather gets warmer. In this lively role, you’ll serve delicious ice cream treats, handle cash transactions with precision, and ensure every customer leaves with a smile. Your energetic attitude and attention to detail will help foster a fun, fast-paced environment that keeps guests coming back for more. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them
- Prepare and serve ice cream cones, cups and floats
- Operate TOAST POS system to process transactions efficiently and accurately (can be taught)
- Handle cash, credit card payments, and give correct change while maintaining a balanced cash drawer
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including counters, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Upsell additional items like toppings or specialty desserts to enhance customer experience and increase sales
- Assist with food handling duties such as scooping ice cream, refilling supplies, and managing food storage areas
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or food service environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with TOAST POS system is a plus but can be taught
- Experience working in quick service or fast-food restaurants will help you excel in this energetic role
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy periods while maintaining high-quality service
