We are currently hiring for both Ice Cream Scoopers (4 positions) and Cafe/Barista's (4 positions).
Saco River Family Camping is looking for friendly, upbeat team members to join our Ice Cream Shop Crew for the 2026 season! This is a fast-paced, fun position where you’ll serve frozen treats, help guests cool off, and make their stay a little sweeter.
This is a seasonal role running from May through early fall, with opportunities to assist in themed campground recreation events as well.
What You’ll Do
As part of the Ice Cream Shop team, you’ll:
- Greet and serve guests with enthusiasm
- Prepare ice cream cones, sundaes, frappes, and other frozen creations
- Keep the shop clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Operate a cash register and handle transactions accurately
- Answer guest questions and offer menu suggestions
- Work closely with team members to keep things running smoothly
- Help with light cleaning, restocking, and supporting special events
What We’re Looking For
- A friendly, outgoing attitude and a love for customer service
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Physically able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for long periods
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather conditions
Requirements:
- Friendly and outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions
- Physicality – there are shipments of inventory, lots of walking, standing, moving, and equipment to clean and organize, and lifting up to 40lbs is needed from time to time!
- Availability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to work in a outdoor environment with occasional exposure to weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or a similar guest-facing role
- Familiarity with ice cream service or frozen treat prep
