- This role supports the effective operation of AMI metering systems, Retail Services processes, and CCS data integrity while providing essential administrative, technical, and TS application support to the MB Tech Services organization. Ensure accurate meter data, reliable system performance, and efficient departmental operations by resolving metering issues, maintaining purchasing and administrative workflows, and serving as a key liaison for critical TS tools. Aid in the development and training of new employees within the Distribution Metering Systems department.
- Provide support for the AMI metering systems and RF Mesh network by performing advanced Command Center activities and resolving complex or escalated communication issues. Troubleshoot “Lost” and “Not Logging” meters, address difficult registration failures, analyze tamper alerts, and resolve errors in the log viewer. Assists new Command Center users by providing general training on the application.
- Resolve advanced CCS exceptions, including those involving cross‑system discrepancies, prolonged estimation, negative consumption patterns, and seeder or configuration errors. Conduct root‑cause analysis across Command Center, CCS, and field data sources. Support the development of training materials for lower‑level technicians.
- Assist Retail Services by processing failed PayGo remote reconnects, disconnects, and on‑demand meter reads using RadioShop and Command Center applications. Coordinate with Retail Field Services for meter replacements in circumstances where meter communication is not possible. Contribute recommendations to improve operational procedures and system workflows. Provide guidance to lower-level technicians as needed.
- Provides administrative support for the MB Tech Services building by logging monthly fleet usage, handling FIS duties (Regs, POs, blanket agreements, p-cards, invoices), ordering office supplies, coordinating special events, updating the on-call list every 6 months and maintaining the copier, amongst various other things. Monitors and maintains Purchase Orders covering a wide range of distribution services by keeping Purchase Orders updated, initiating change orders, entering releases, receipts, LPO's, P-Card purchases and requisitions. Regularly reports status of Purchase Orders to supervision.
- Provide resolutions for complex metering issues identified through operational reporting and analytics. Coordinate with Retail Services, Field Services, and the Metering Engineer as needed. Addresses data quality concerns and discrepancies that impact billing. Develop work instructions for lower-level technicians. Support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to system enhancement projects aimed at improving the RF Mesh Network performance.
- Assist with advanced data restoration efforts by performing extensive data extracts from the Command Center and ensuring accurate integration into the Meter Data Management (MDM/CCS) system. Identify causes of missing or corrupted meter reads, and collaborate with the Metering Engineer to address underlying technical issues. Provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians as needed.
- Assist with monitoring and interpreting RF Mesh network health reports in Command Center to identify communication degradation, network equipment failures, and performance trends. Support field investigations and contribute to long‑term network optimization efforts.
