Position Description:
Responsible for providing technical engineering & project management support to enhance maintenance, inspection, operation, performance and reliability of the Santee Cooper high voltage transmission system. Responsible for the design, budgeting and project management of short tap lines, line relocations, switch installations, and various other transmission line projects. Responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive customer service relationship with our external Cooperative and Industrial customers.

Essential Job Tasks:
- Provides engineering and technical support to the transmission line crews.
- Performs estimates, design functions and manage projects from initiation through completion for various billable, capital, reimbursable and O&M projects.
- Provides engineering review for encroachment department.
- Analyzes line criticality, historic operating cost, outages, failures and risk to identify critical poor performing components, line sections or areas of high risk.
- Makes recommendations for candidate Targeted Capital Maintenance and Targeted Component Replacement Projects.
- Performs Line rating analysis to ensure the at field conditions are acceptable for the lines to operate at the appropriate temperature and ampacity indicated by ECC and System Planning's line ratings data base.
- Communicates Budget Projections, Critical Dates and Project issues, recommendations, Scope and Status to Unit Manager and other team members.
- Will consider Engineer I, II, III or Senior Engineer
Senior Engineer
- Bachelors Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited University or College 8 years experience in a related field is required.
- Professional Engineer License required.

- Bachelors Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited University or College 5 years experience in a related field is required.
- FE License required.
- Professional Engineer License preferred.
