Under the direction of an administrator or director, perform complex and responsible accounting and financial support functions for assigned Special Education and Medi-Cal programs; process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions; maintain financial records; prepare required fiscal reports; monitor budgets and expenditures; coordinate fiscal activities related to Nonpublic Schools (NPS), Nonpublic Agencies (NPA), and Medi-Cal Administrative Activities (SMAA); and provide technical accounting support to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, county, and District regulations.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: Any combination equivalent to: Associate degree or completion of two years of college coursework with emphasis in accounting, business administration, finance, or a closely related field, or three years of increasingly responsible accounting, fiscal services, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or governmental accounting experience. Experience supporting Special Education, Medi-Cal, school district finance, or public agency accounting is desirable. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. ABILITY TO: Perform complex accounting and financial recordkeeping accurately and efficiently; process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions; prepare detailed financial reports and reimbursement documentation; reconcile financial records and identify discrepancies; interpret and apply applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports; establish and maintain effective working relationships with District personnel, service providers, and outside agencies; maintain confidential information; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; operate standard office equipment and computerized financial management systems; organize work, establish priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Work Day: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00 pm (includes 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
