Requirements / Qualifications
Credential Requirements: Valid Teaching Credential with a Special Education authorization (e.g. Moderate/Severe, or Early Childhood Special Education) Pro-ACT certification required (may be completed after hire) DESIRED: Experience working with preschool-aged children with disabilities preferred. Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Knowledge of early intervention strategies, behavior supports, and inclusion practices. Understanding of developmental milestones and assessment tools (e.g. DRDP, ABLLS-R, etc.). Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including SLPs, OTs, etc. Bilingual or multilingual skills (e.g., Spanish/English) to effectively communicate with diverse student families. Prior experience training or directing the work of instructional aides in a classroom setting. Strong background in implementing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.
