What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Safety QA Technician position at Santa Monica Seafood Company?
Quality Assurance Technician/Food Safety Inspector will be responsible for the following areas:
To oversee the Quality Assurance aspects of the Company's operations. Sanitation and general plant inspection, completion of QA and Food Safety documentation, Inputting of data into online Food Safety Management System, helping to prepare for inspections and audits. Monitoring policies, programs, and procedures to ensure food safety and quality of product throughout the entire operational process and compliance with all regulatory quality and customer-related requirements affiliated with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Ability to work in a cold environment (< 40 F). Temperature-controlled warehouse.
Schedule
Monday- Friday (Some Saturdays as needed)
Schedule: Mon–Fri, 3:45AM–2:15PM
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Proficient with computers, Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to multi-task
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Prolonged walking, standing, sitting, bending, stopping
- Knowledge of Seafood product- preferred, but not required
Minimum of 6 months of experience in food production
