Santa Fe South Pathways Middle College is an innovative program within Santa Fe South Charter Schools and is located on the campus of Oklahoma City Community College. Pathways is an Oklahoma Blue Ribbon School and a top 5% high school in Oklahoma.

Position Summary
The High School English Teacher at Pathways Middle College delivers rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in literature and composition while supporting students in developing the reading, writing, and thinking skills necessary for college-level work.
This teacher creates a structured, supportive classroom environment where students are challenged academically and supported individually. The role is ideal for an educator who values strong relationships, adapts instruction to meet diverse needs, and believes all students can succeed with the right support.
Instruction is grounded in Santa Fe South’s ELA instructional framework and emphasizes complex texts, evidence-based writing, and purposeful discussion. Teachers work closely with colleagues to support students in staying on track toward graduation and postsecondary success.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned English instruction that builds college-ready reading and writing skills
- Teach complex texts and facilitate evidence-based discussion and analytical writing
- Explicitly teach writing through structured practice, revision, and meaningful feedback
- Differentiate instruction to support students at varying readiness levels while maintaining high expectations
- Use assessment data to monitor progress and adjust instruction
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students and families
- Support students in developing the academic habits needed for college success
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate actively in Santa Fe South’s coaching model
- Seek and implement feedback to continuously strengthen instructional practice
- Contribute positively to Pathways’ collaborative and mission-driven culture
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Oklahoma teaching certification (or willingness/ability to obtain)
- Strong alignment with Santa Fe South’s mission
Preferred
- Strong content knowledge in literature and writing instruction
- Experience teaching secondary English
- Experience working with diverse or nontraditional learners
- Demonstrated ability to hold students to high academic expectations
- Growth-oriented mindset and openness to feedback
