Examples of Duties
Under general supervision, this position provides routine maintenance, and performs the following duties: - 75%
- Service and maintain electric motors, shaft bearings, and gear reducers.
- Lube or oil gears, spindles, belts, blowers, and filters.
- Clean heating and cooling coils, cooling tower basins, and air intake grills. Inspect, service, and support equipment for wear.
- Make adjustments as needed to correct misalignments.
- Unclog lines.
- Replace gaskets and faucets.
- Repair lines and leaks.
- Attach fittings and pipes using materials and techniques of the trade.
- Unclog drains. Replace filters.
- Repair leaks in various systems using materials and techniques of the trade.
- Replace small motors or pumps.
- Provides maintenance support as needed to assist the night maintenance shop with work orders.
- Complete carpentry, minor electrical, and mechanical tasks as assigned.
Education
Typical Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Plumbing related trade school completion preferred. This requirement may substitute for the 6 months experience that is required.
- Six (6) months experience in the maintenance and repair of plumbing systems required.
- Additional experience and skills in the maintenance of various trades; HVAC, carpentry or electrical preferred.
- City of Warrensburg Plumber License preferred
Physical/Environmental Factors
- Exposure to fumes and/or chemicals
- Lifting (weight) - 70 lbs
- Exposure to electrical current.
- Work in cramped and hot spaces.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, lifts and bucket truck.
