Job Summary
The Career Technical Education Fire Technology Teacher will be responsible for teaching one section of Fire Technology at our Santa Cruz location This course will provide a starting point for students that are new or curious about Fire Technology as well as those that are already interested in a future career in this technology industry.
Requirements / Qualifications
The teacher in the position will be responsible for developing an inclusive classroom environment, have a strong understanding of utilizing and implementing Fire Technology state standards, strong classroom management skills, and an excitement for the technology industry at large. Curriculum, professional development and guidance will be provided by both the Santa Cruz County Office of Education and the Fire Technology Department from Cabrillo College. This posting is to teach 1 section per week of a CTE Fire Technology course. Multiple candidates may be chosen to cover this section throughout the year. The rate of pay is $55 per hour.
Candidates must hold or be eligible to hold either a CTE substitute teaching permit in the Industry sector of Public Service or a Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Credential in the Industry sector of Public Service. There are no benefits offered with this position.
