Job Summary
Job Summary
For over thirty years, the Santa Cruz County Office of Education has offered a pathway for adult learners to pursue a career as a Medical Assistant. Our 10-month program provides students with the didactic instruction, skills, internship experience, and certifications necessary to perform the duties of a medical assistant. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to apply the basic principles of medical assisting in both an administrative and clinical setting with a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and empathy.

Job Highlights: - 10 month position on the school calendar with school holidays - Competitive pay, with retirement in STRS - COE will pay for and support CTE credential fulfillment Schedule: Medical Assisting class days and times are flexible.
Applicant must hold, or be eligible for, a Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Credential in the area of Health Science and Medical Technology. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid driver's license. Additional Salary Information: MA $1500 (pro-rated); Doctorate $400 (pro-rated) To complete the application process, the following items will be needed: 1) A completed on-line SCCOE application at www.edjoin.org. 2) A letter describing personal qualifications, reasons for interest in the position. 3) Three current letters of recommendation.
