EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a current/valid Multiple Subject, Single Subject, Education Specialist Teaching credential, or a 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit. Please note: If you were educated outside of the US, you must have your foreign transcripts evaluated by an approved agency. Experience: One year (or more) experience with at-risk-youth, either through work, volunteer, or personal experience. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Applicants must hold a current/valid Multiple Subject, Single Subject, Education Specialist Teaching Credential or a 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit.

THE POSITION The Santa Clara County Office of Education is now accepting applications for Substitute Teacher - Alternative Education position. The Substitute Teacher - Alternative Education works at multiple sites using specialized techniques to provide instruction to students who have been unable to succeed in established elementary, middle, and high schools and/or continuation schools, as well as individuals and groups of students who have been assigned to court schools. This may be in a variety of educational settings which may include juvenile hall, independent study, community schools, or other Alternative Education programs. Substitute Teacher - Alternative Education is an on-call, part time, temporary position.
